OCR Chicks

OCR chicks are special. They are beautiful even without makeup. The OCR chick is not afraid of anything. The OCR chick is proud of her cuts, bruises, and scars. OCR chicks won’t complain, they don’t make excuses…..unless you mess up their pre-race routine. I think we can all agree they are the cream of the crop. So how does a single OCR guy snag one of these magnificent creatures? I have polled and compiled a few questions from some of the aforementioned wonderful OCR chicks to help all you OCR athletes out there that would like to have an OCR chick as a better half with you before and after the race to hug, kiss, hold, and train together. I think everyone wants to be like the greatest power couple in the sport, Lindsay and Ryan Atkins. While women in general are mysterious and men have been trying to understand them since the beginning of time, here is some help.

Case example – The lovely Brittany Corbett.

Q. What should a guy know when trying to attract the elusive OCR chick?
A. That an OCR chick is not your average chick, she embodies the Beauty and the Beast mode. So don’t go in thinking she’s only tough as nails OR soft as kittens. Remember she crushes obstacles, climbs mountains, and still looks good in heels, bruises and all.

Q. What is the most common turn off when trying to seduce the rare OCR chick?
A. For me, a guy who rambles on about the hours he trains for. We all train a lot for OCR, but not so we can punch a time card. Right?! It’s a lifestyle that we love and have fun with! It shouldn’t feel like I’m listening to an exercise resume.

Q. Shirt or no shirt for men at races? (This is a stupid question isn’t it haha?)
A. haha No shirt!… okay athletic compression gear works too! Seriously though, guys leave the t-shirts for socializing, sleeping and sweating (workouts), especially past finishers shirts.

Q. What does the male say after and or during the race to captivate the elusory OCR chick?
A. Whatever you say; keep it simple and say it with a smile.

Q. What does a man say to the mysterious OCR chick to invite her to a race or training session together?
A. I don’t know if I can give this secret away… just be confident and ask!

Q. What’s most important to the beautiful and extraordinary OCR chick?
A. This is probably different for every OCR chick, but for me, its adventure. Heck, it’s why I got into OCR. I could travel to all the places these races are and walk around the mountains, but there’s something to be said about seeing it through the eyes of a race or training experience. It’s like showing a picture of a sunset to someone. They get the gist, but no matter how much you describe it, they’ll never really see the whole picture. Finding someone who can see that whole picture like you do, now that’s special.

Q. The number 1 thing that is most attractive in a male OCR athlete?
A. On race day and in general, the number one most attractive thing in a male OCR athlete is his positive attitude.

When it comes to racing, we are torn up and tired after a course. I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve had eyeliner running down my face, holes in my shorts, and most likely a few bumps and bruises, lost toenails, you name it! All I want to do is laugh and have a good time talking about the insanity we just did. Don’t just be a negative-nancy dissecting every twist and turn you may have made wrong and beating yourself up.

Q. What should a guy know when trying to attract the elusive OCR chick?
A. When a guy is trying to attract the elusive OCR chick he should know that yes she may be physically strong, but she is still looking for someone to treat her like a lady, hold her, and enjoy her strong nature.

Q. What is the most common turn off when trying to seduce the rare OCR chick?
A. To me, the most common turn off is leading in with everything OCR. It’s what I do, I met you at a race, I get it, that’s your thing, but to get to me think outside the OCR box.

Q. Shirt or no shirt for men at races? (This is a stupid question isn’t it haha?)
A. I mean if I really have to answer this nonsense, no shirt of course. Check back through my older posts I began on #teamnoshirts.

Q. What does the male say after and or during the race to captivate the elusory OCR chick?
A. Plain and simple. “I got you a beer.”

Q. What does a man say to the mysterious OCR chick to invite her to a race or training session together?
A. Nothing. If she feels he’s worthy, she invites him ?

Q. What’s most important to the beautiful and extraordinary OCR chick?
A. The most important thing is personality. You might look good, but honestly, anyone can get that 6 pack….the personality is key.

Q. The number 1 thing that is most attractive in a male OCR athlete?
A. The number 1 thing that is most attractive in a male OCR athlete is being comfortable and proud with his OCR chick being faster and stronger than him.

Q. What should a guy know when trying to attract the elusive OCR chick?
A. We are badass women who probably don’t have time for bullshit. We have already eschewed social norms to compete in such a male-dominated sport & push our bodies to the limit, so please approach us with the respect that we have earned. No “baby baby” catcalls or frat boy attitudes…at least not for THIS OCR chick ?.

Q. What is the most common turn off when trying to seduce the rare OCR chick?
A. Don’t try to impress me with your rankings. Or rather, don’t harp on them. Definitely mention them sure if you are proud of them – and you have a right to be, of course – but if that’s what you’re using as the main basis of your appeal, it’s not going last long.

Q. Shirt or no shirt for men at races? (This is a stupid question isn’t it haha?)
A. Ummmm nothing wrong with showing a little skin if you feel comfortable and want to show off. But again, no frat boys, please. A guy in a shirt can look just as good as one without…trust me, I’ve seen it ☺ #PersonalityOver6Packs

Q. What does the male say after and or during the race to captivate the elusory OCR chick?
A. OCR is my outlet and I LOVE it, so asking me pretty much anything about it will keep the conversation going haha. I love to exchange training advice, see what races people have done & which venues they’ve liked/disliked, compare brands of clothing/gear…did we just become best friends? YUP (*Note: no “friend zone” implication intended ☺)

Q. What does a man say to the mysterious OCR chick to invite her to a race or training session together?
A. Personally, I’m pretty transparent on this one and my enthusiasm speaks for itself. You don’t have to think of clever wording or be suave about it…ask me to do a race or attend a training session and I’ll probably say yes!! If I’m not already running a different race that day, of course!

Q. What’s most important to the beautiful and extraordinary OCR chick?
A. Honesty. Respect. Kindness. Ambition. Perseverance. Humility. #PodiumDreams will come and go, but the fabric of your moral code is your true legacy.

Q. The number 1 thing that is most attractive in a male OCR athlete?
A. Always be willing to share your #FitAid.

In conclusion, be positive, be ok with getting chicked by her (that WILL happen at some point), don’t drink your free FitAid after the race, but give it to her. However, the magnificent OCR chick still needs to be held, taken care of, and listened to like every woman. I hope all you guys out there find a beautiful and gritty woman and grow together, bandage each other up after a race, and massage each other after a long race.
