If you had been sitting by and waiting for the email to come, wait no longer. The fine folks at Spartan have finally released the Athlete guide for the 2016 New Jersey Beast and Ultra Beast. A good majority of the information is standard fare, but the interesting bits are as follows.

The vertical cargo net is similar to the A-Frame obstacle. The idea here is to challenge someone's fear of height by climbing to the top via a cargo net, then transitioning to the opposite side of the obstacle for a decent. The transition is the most challenging part of this obstacle.

The A-Frame cargo net looks more menacing than it is.  Although the apex rises to a height considerably higher than most feel comfortable at, the obstacle is more mental than physical.  Cargo Net footing makes for a wobbly climb and unstable decent.

They have finally listened to the huddled masses of people clamoring for Spartan to introduce a new wave of racers and a new wave of heats to their very popular Spartan Race.
