With only 123 days left until the Killington Ultra Beast, I decided to create a series of posts detailing my preparedness plan, thoughts, and feelings. Although it may seem like 123 days is plenty of time to prepare, I feel like there is a lot of work to do in little time.
Yes, I did complete the 2016 Spartan Ultra Beast NJ two weeks ago. Although I am not upset with my performance (37th overall), I felt I could have done better. With that in mind, I am going to put the work in. Please keep in mind, I am an average athlete with elite willpower and determination.
Having not trained since the week before the NJ UB, it is difficult to get back into the groove. The week after was a recovery week in preparation for Ohio Sprint and Beast. Last week was again a recovery week. That is 3 weeks without training! I hit the gym the other day and had a hard time finding the motivation to work out. Today’s run was a bit of a chore, but I powered through it the best I could.
