Bone Frog Challenge

9+ Miles. 36+ Obstacles. Hills. Mud. Harder than Hell. Join U.S. Navy SEALs for an event you will never forget. With a minimum of 36 Navy SEAL-style obstacles spread out over 9 miles, the course will test everyone and leave no one unscathed. We place an obstacle approximately every 1/4-mile so your running ability alone will not carry the day. You must be functionally fit to succeed here. You will get muddy. You will get beat up. You will be exhausted. But you will finish.

What is a Bone Frog?

The Bone Frog is the unofficial mascot for the current generation of Navy SEALs that carry out our nation’s most difficult and dangerous missions around the world. The origins date back to before Navy SEALs had been created. Our predecessors were the men of the Underwater Demolition Teams (UDT) that served so courageously in WWII, Korea and through Vietnam. These incredible heroes were known as “UDT Frogmen” due to their incredible abilities to work in and around the water while battling fierce opposition. During Vietnam, these UDT Frogmen became Navy SEALs and the UDT were phased out. As a result of the great respect current SEALs have for our forefathers, we still prefer to be known as “Frogmen.” The Bone Frog has come to represent today’s SEALs who have brought warfare to an entirely new level in Iraq, Afghanistan and around the world in places you have never heard of. Many of our current warriors have some rendition of the Bone Frog tattooed on their bodies – it means that much.

About Bone Frog Challenge

The Story. The Bone Frog Challenge was created by Navy SEALs to challenge, build and inspire participants to become better athletes and recognize that they can do anything they set their minds to, while enjoying the camaraderie and teamwork usually reserved for active duty Navy SEALs.

The Experience. The Bone Frog Challenge is truly a unique experience. Our events kick off with our Full Distance Elite Wave at 8:30am followed by the Sprint Elite Wave at 8:45am. Open waves start every 15 minutes from 9am on.

The Course. With at least 40 Navy SEAL-style obstacles on courses that range from 9-12 miles, the course will test everyone and leave no one unscathed. We place an obstacle about every quarter mile, so your running ability alone will not carry the day. You must be functionally fit to succeed here. You will get muddy. You will get beat up. You will be exhausted. But you will finish. As Navy SEALs, we know what tough is – and we don’t mean Harvard.

The After Party. Come hang out with Navy SEALs for a party that you won’t want to miss!  While we do not believe that the “after party” should be the focus of the day, we have always subscribed to the “work hard, play hard” mentality. We have planned and executed hundreds of combat missions – no one can plan like we do! From awesome music to great food and cold beer, your experience with the Bone Frog Challenge will be one that you will remember for years to come.

Family Event. As Navy SEALs we have been forced to spend a great deal of time away from our families. As a result, whenever we can, we include the entire family in all that we do. The Bone Frog Challenge event weekend offers fun and activities for all ages. Let the kids come watch you race and then let them loose in our Mini Bone Frog Challenge Kids Area where they can play in the mud and on scaled down obstacles.
