Berlin Walls

A long-standing Tough Mudder original, these super-sturdy 10-foot walls put camaraderie and teamwork to the ultimate test. Home to many a bottom boost and helping hand, no Mudder will be left on the outskirts of these towering timbers.

Suggested Training

Mental:
Repeat the following phrase to yourself, 15 times: “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall”.

Physical:
Pull-Ups – Complete 10 reps. Rest 2 minutes. Repeat 3 times.
Alternative- Assisted pull-ups: Using a partner or a set of resistance bands (just thick enough to achieve the prescribed reps) secured around your bar and locked under foot, perform pull-ups as described above.
Box Jumps: Complete 3 rounds.
Push-Ups: Complete 20 reps. Rest 1 minute. Repeat 3 times.

Tough Mudder Tips

Some Mudders with superhuman upper body strength and agility will be able to get up and over themselves. Those with a good vertical leap may be able to reach the top by planting a foot on the protruding wooden 2×6 near the bottom of the wall. Others will have to work together. To boost your teammates over the walls, interlace your fingers and let them step into your hands while they pull themselves over the obstacle.
