Electroshock Therapy 2.0

The electrifying crown jewel of every Tough Mudder course has just upped it’s shock value. Now, EST 2.0 features a color-coded “hot zone” which houses wires with increased voltage.

Obstacle History

Introduced in 2010, Electroshock Therapy brought unprecedented shock value to the obstacle course community. While training is a fundamental part of the TM experience, no amount of it can prepare Mudders for the mental fortitude needed to rush through EST. Although we’ve tweaked the obstacle along the way, placing walls in the middle of the obstacle, 2015 brings the first major redesign– a “hot zone” with souped up voltage.

Suggested Training

Wearing thick woolen socks, shimmy across your carpet without raising your feet. Find various metal objects and touch them.

High Knees – Perform 20 reps. Rest for 30 seconds. Repeat 3 times.
Sprints – Sprint 100 meters. Rest 1 minute. Repeat 6 times.
Bear Crawls – Crawl forward for 20 yards. Rest for 30 seconds, then bear crawl back. Repeat 3 times.

Tough Mudder Tips

The best way to make it through Electroshock Therapy is to focus on the ground in front of you, so you can keep your footing. Shield your face with your arm while you plow through.
